Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 Oct 2026 · applies to the OptiCore Windows app and this website

Short version: OptiCore runs on your PC. It doesn't collect telemetry, doesn't track you and doesn't sell anything about you. The only things that leave your PC are what's needed to check your license, and, only if you connect it, uploads to your own Google Drive.

1. What stays on your PC

Settings, backups of every change OptiCore makes, benchmark results, game session summaries, logs, recordings, replays and screenshots are stored only on your PC, in OptiCore's data folder and your Videos folder. We never receive them.

2. License check

When you activate a key or start the free trial, OptiCore sends our license server:

The server stores the key, the Hardware IDs it's active on, and when each was last seen, to enforce the PC limit and allow revoking or moving a license. For free trials it also stores a hash of your IP address (never the address itself) to limit repeated trials from one network. If you get a key through our Discord, your Discord user ID is stored with it so the key can be delivered to you and you can look it up with /mylicense.

3. Google Drive (optional)

If you choose Connect Google Drive, you sign in on Google's own page in your browser. OptiCore requests the drive.file permission, which only lets it see and manage the folders and files that OptiCore itself creates. It cannot read or change anything else in your Drive.

OptiCore's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Google user data for advertising, don't sell it, and don't let people read it.

4. Other network requests

To show game icons, server details and ping, OptiCore may contact Steam's public app search, Google's favicon service, the cfx.re server list (for FiveM join codes), public IP-location services (for "where is this server" and distance) and the ping targets you choose. The recording engine (FFmpeg) is downloaded from its official build mirror the first time you turn recording on. None of these requests include personal information beyond your IP address, which every internet request carries.

Updates: OptiCore checks opticore.pages.dev/version.json for a new version when it starts and every 6 hours (you can turn this off in Settings). Nothing is sent except the request itself.

Problem and crash reports: only sent when you click Send. A report contains your message, the error, OptiCore's log (optional), your app version, Windows version, CPU and GPU model, your plan (Free/Pro) and your Hardware ID. Your Windows user name and PC name are removed from the log first. Reports go to the developer's private Discord channel and are used only to fix bugs.

Discord status: while you play, OptiCore can tell the Discord app on your PC which game you're playing so your profile shows "Optimized with OptiCore". This stays between OptiCore and your local Discord app; turn it off in Settings → Discord status.

5. Payments

If paid licenses are offered, payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout, under their privacy policy. We receive what's needed to deliver your key (for example your Discord name or email), never your card details.

6. Children

OptiCore isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.

7. Deleting your data

Uninstall OptiCore and delete its data folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\OptiCore) to remove everything local. To delete license records, ask on our Discord and we'll remove your key and Hardware IDs.

8. Contact

Questions or requests: opticore-support@googlegroups.com or Discord discord.gg/fJRdMAJX4K (dilex69).
